Dust mites are naturally found in all households. Since they feed on shed human skin, they love to live in mattresses, bed pillows, and stuffed bedding items like comforters. Bedding not only provides dust mites with the best conditions of warmth and humidity, it also offers them a steady source of nourishment.

Studies confirm that minimizing dust mite allergen exposure in the bedroom reduces allergic symptoms and the need for medication. Doctors and allergists agree that the most important thing you can do is put a barrier between you and dust mites. To successfully establish a dust mite barrier, a product must be able to prevent dust mites from passing through the barrier, as well as their waste particles. The barrier should also limit the transmission of vapor to the basic bedding product, thus eliminating the moisture that is absolutely critical for their survival.
