Memory Foam products are made of high quality polyurethane foam. Polyurethane foam can permanently discolor when exposed to air and ultraviolet light. This discoloration is normal and does not indicate any functional deficiency performance.
The foam mattress pads are cut slightly smaller than your mattress to allow proper fit of your bottom sheet. Center the pad on top of your mattress. Because most foam pads are vacuum packed the pad may at first be slightly smaller in length and width when first opened. Allowing it to open and relax will ensure it will return to its proper size and shape.
Polyurethane Foam is produced by reacting polyols, isocyanates, water, and catalysts to form polymer chains. In addition to the above chemicals, the foam formulations often include silicone based surfactants, blowing agents, and flame retardants. The reaction between the polyols and isocyanates forms urethane linkages giving the foam its name, polyurethane. Polyurethane foam is made by reacting the chemical monomers and making the polymers and foam at the same time. Viscose Foam also called “Memory Foam” is what occurs when polyurethane is made with additional chemicals that add to the viscosity level, thereby increasing the density of the foam, making it softer and more pliable.
